Although there was a bit of a chill in the air, the wintry day was not that bad for a little wedding, and even the clouds in the sky seemed to clear in the sky for the event. Tucked away on a quiet hill, surrounded by trees, the historic Dahlgren Chapel exuded not only quaint tradition, but undeniable privacy for the bride and groom and their friends and collected family.

The small church itself was…tastefully!...decked out in most black and red, with splashes of the occasional white to keep it from being a little too Hot Topic goth-y, in a way that very intentionally meant to be a reflection of Liz's engagement ring.

And, so, with no Fandom Weirdness^™ to get in the way this time, the day was finally here for a small little wedding several months/ten years in the making.

Pre Wedding - Arrive at the Church

For the guests to arrive and find their seats before the wedding starts. Show off what you’re wearing and take the chance to talk quietly while everyone is getting settled.

Don't forget to grab your disposable cameras, though! At the entrance of the church, guests will find a small table with a collection of them, and a sign asking that they please help the couple remember this special day with the thing that brought them together in the first place. Take a camera, take some shots, and help spread the memories!

Pre-Wedding - Bride and Groom Respective Pre-Wedding Prep/Flailing

For any last minute preparation/nerves from the Bride and Groom as they wait for the start of the wedding.

Hopefully they’re not flailing too much as the procession gets closer to starting.

Wedding - Walk Down the Aisle

Without an official wedding party, there isn't much of a procession, but there is a black carpet edged with red roses for the bride to make her entrance.

Preceeded by none other than Rain in her wedding best as the ring-bearer, tempted down the aisle with the promise of a treat when she makes it to the altar with the rings neatly tied around her neck with a red ribbon.

Wedding - Ceremony and Vows

The ceremony itself is simple and straight forward, the sort of basic approach you'd expect from an officiant pretty much brought on for the job, but no one is really here for that part of the process, anyway. It's all about that exchanging of rings and vows when things get far more interesting.

Reception - General Mingling

Just a little bit outside of the chapel, one of outdoor party tents have been set up for a very small, very casual, very low-key reception with a little food, a little music, and a lot of opportunities to celebrate the married couple!

There's plenty of space to move around and some black and red chairs lining the edges of the tent, as well as a few standing tables draped in black cloth with floral centerpieces here and there for people to gather at as well.

Reception - Newlywed Dance

It really isn't the dancing sort of wedding reception, but there was no way that Prompto was going to let this thing go off without being able to have a little space and a little time to have that iconic moment with his new wife. Especially not when he felt he'd found the perfect song for it, and everyone would just have to deal with it as he lead Liz out onto the small space that could be sort of called a dance floor, and took her into his arms as the first notes of Technicolour Beat began to play.

Reception - Talk to the Newlyweds

At the very back of the tent, on a little raised dias, there is table for the newlyweds to sit and (important especially for one of them!) be comfortable for the guests to come around and congratulate them personally.

Once they tag in, anyway.

Reception - Food and Drinks

The wedding cake is actually mint chocolate, and there are also cupcakes, and a wide variety of moddable tapas-style foods and beverages of all sorts.

Yes, including some jello shots.

Reception - Gifts Table

Even though the couple isn't really expecting gifts, there definitely a spot for guests to leave some for them if they felt so inclined!

Reception - Camera Thread

"Drop off" your camera at the end of the evening by letting us know what sort of pictures the newlyweds are likely to find later when they start going through all the film and the memories!

Steven was there. He wouldn't miss wishing Liz and Prompto happiness on this day for all the world. He dressed for the occasion in a blue suit but with a green pocket square that matched the color of Llewellyn's tie.

He of course took one of the cameras. He wanted to do Liz proud and show he'd paid attention in the lesson she'd given him what now felt like a lifetime ago.

Watts? Also here, obviously. In his green plaid suit and tie, along with a waistcoat that matched the colour of Steven's suit.

Though he would never claim any particular skill at photography, he took one of the cameras regardless and would do his best.

Prompto had been pacing in his respective prep room so much, it was kind of a surprise he hadn't just run a trench into the floor, especially as the hour drew nearer and nearer. This was fine, everything was fine, he was totally ready for this! He definitely wasn't internally flailing about everything that could possibly go wrong. Oh, god, what if he tripped and fell in front of everyone? What if he flubbed up the vows? What if the church burned down? What if Ardyn showed up? Or Verstaal?

At least he wasn't worried that Liz was going to suddenly up and change her mind, though. He was thinking that she probably should, get out before it was too late, but still! Progress!

He tried not to focus on the things that could go wrong, and instead focus on the fact that he was getting married in a little bit, but that didn't help. All that did was just unlock a whole different flavor of anxiety, yaaaaay.

Whether or not that would actually be helpful, though, was to be determined.

You'd be pretty hard-pressed to catch Summer before the actual ceremony, running around and making sure everything was set and in place before things really got started. She was, after all, pretty much the de facto bridesmaid here, as well as the wedding planner, the second of which was a role she was clearly leaning into hard with her smart little suit that matched the wedding colors and everything. But making sure everything was going well with guests and arrivals was part of that, too, so you would catch her occasionally sweeping by to ensure that was going well, too.

Dwight was definitely there, he wouldn't have missed it for anything. The suit was his usual snazzy burgundy one he wore when a suit was needed. So, with camera in hand, Dwight made his way in, hoping he could get some good shots for Liz and Prompto at least.

"Easy for you to say," Prompto muttered, but he did actually stop pacing for a moment, and took a second to draw in a deep breath, letting it out slowly, to sort of try and follow Gladio's advice.

It worked for, like, two seconds before the nervous butterflies started to flutter around in his stomach all over again, but at least he did stop pacing and he looked over at Gladio and Ignis...at all three of them, really, back in their Kingsglaive uniforms, and in came another different sort of wave of emotion and his shoulders sagged a little.

"Thanks, though," he said. "I'm really...I appreciate you guys doing this for me."

At this point, Prompto still couldn't believe they'd actually done it. He still felt like he wasn't going to really be able to breathe entirely easily until he and Liz were hightailing it off to the Bahamas for a few days, but there was definitely something about having gotten to this point that was just...everything. They did it. They were married now, and even if something still happened here at their little reception, it wouldn't change that fact. It would suck, don't get him wrong, but it almost felt as if a curse that had been hanging over his shoulders for ten years now was finally lifted.

And it was much easier now to just sit back, marvel at the reality of it, and be grateful for all the people who had managed to come and celebrate this day with him and his wife!

Ha! What were the fucking odds, man? This whole thing was just wild.

Amaya had been debating a little about whether or not to come to the wedding; she wasn't really the wedding going type, if she could help it. But Prompto had been a student (and a good one at that), and she'd worked with Liz a little, and she had been invited, and she did have that whole thing about having all those nice clothes and not letting them go to waste, so she was there, feeling a bit awkward about it, and, yes, that was the same dress she'd worn to the last wedding. Why would you need to wear a different one when you already had a perfectly good one already?

Even though it was a small wedding Liz was extremely nervous as she tried to remember her breathing and that this would all be fine.

Professor Broom was with her, helping her with getting ready, which she was extremely grateful for.

She smoothed out her dress a few more times to make sure that she was ready.

Even though the ceremony was over and she was sitting with her husband, Liz still couldn’t quite believe that this was all real.

She kept looking over at him throughout the reception, not quite willing to leave his side as part of her was still terrified that this was all a dream.

She knew that it wasn’t though, that she was really here celebrating her marriage to Prompto, that they had gotten married.

She smiled happily, a little tired from the excitement of the day but she was very happy and content.

Liz was trying really hard to not cling too tightly to Professor Broom from nerves as they made their way down the aisle.

They were a little slow with the walk as Professor Broom needed to take a bit of care himself as they walked.

She kept her focus in front of her as she was careful not to stumble on her way down the aisle, she smiled shyly as she got nearer to the front, hardly able to believe that this was really happening.

Summer would, at some point, pop in to see how Prompto was doing, too, but since he had Ignis and Gladio, she figured most of her attention on this aspect of the wedding would be focused on Liz, because, gurl, seriously, get more women friends.

There was a knock on the door, but Summer didn't wait for a response before slowly creaking it open and popping her head in.

"Heeeeyyyyyy," she said, "how's everything going? We good? Not panicked?"

She was pretty sure all the panic was probably going on in the other room.
