Although there was a bit of a chill in the air, the wintry day was not that bad for a little wedding, and even the clouds in the sky seemed to clear in the sky for the event. Tucked away on a quiet hill, surrounded by trees, the historic Dahlgren Chapel exuded not only quaint tradition, but undeniable privacy for the bride and groom and their friends and collected family.

The small church itself was…tastefully!...decked out in most black and red, with splashes of the occasional white to keep it from being a little too Hot Topic goth-y, in a way that very intentionally meant to be a reflection of Liz's engagement ring.

And, so, with no Fandom Weirdness^™ to get in the way this time, the day was finally here for a small little wedding several months/ten years in the making.

For any last minute preparation/nerves from the Bride and Groom as they wait for the start of the wedding.

Hopefully they’re not flailing too much as the procession gets closer to starting.

Prompto had been pacing in his respective prep room so much, it was kind of a surprise he hadn't just run a trench into the floor, especially as the hour drew nearer and nearer. This was fine, everything was fine, he was totally ready for this! He definitely wasn't internally flailing about everything that could possibly go wrong. Oh, god, what if he tripped and fell in front of everyone? What if he flubbed up the vows? What if the church burned down? What if Ardyn showed up? Or Verstaal?

At least he wasn't worried that Liz was going to suddenly up and change her mind, though. He was thinking that she probably should, get out before it was too late, but still! Progress!

He tried not to focus on the things that could go wrong, and instead focus on the fact that he was getting married in a little bit, but that didn't help. All that did was just unlock a whole different flavor of anxiety, yaaaaay.

At least Prompto wasn't left to flail and fret all by his lonesome, though.

Whether or not that would actually be helpful, though, was to be determined.

"Dude, calm down," said Gladio, helping out with some last minute adjustments to Ignis' uniform. "You got this."

"Easy for you to say," Prompto muttered, but he did actually stop pacing for a moment, and took a second to draw in a deep breath, letting it out slowly, to sort of try and follow Gladio's advice.

It worked for, like, two seconds before the nervous butterflies started to flutter around in his stomach all over again, but at least he did stop pacing and he looked over at Gladio and Ignis...at all three of them, really, back in their Kingsglaive uniforms, and in came another different sort of wave of emotion and his shoulders sagged a little.

"Thanks, though," he said. "I'm really...I appreciate you guys doing this for me."

"As if we would do anything but," Ignis noted, with a bit of a faint smile, as he gently nudged away Gladio's attempts to assist him and set to adjusting on his own accord, thank you. "It's certainly a much happier affair than the last time we all got together as proper Kingsglaive. Or, at the very least, one far less bittersweet."

Prompto winced a little, because that definitely seemed to cut straight to the quick of at least one thing that was laying underneath all the excitement and anxiety and happiness. A tightness in his chest joined all the butterflies in his stomach and the frayed feeling in all of his nerves, and he gave a faint smile toward them as if that could help loosen it up.

"I really wish," he said, because if he was going to admit it to anyone, if there was anyone who could really understand, it would be these two, "he could be here for this."

Even though it was a small wedding Liz was extremely nervous as she tried to remember her breathing and that this would all be fine.

Professor Broom was with her, helping her with getting ready, which she was extremely grateful for.

She smoothed out her dress a few more times to make sure that she was ready.

Summer would, at some point, pop in to see how Prompto was doing, too, but since he had Ignis and Gladio, she figured most of her attention on this aspect of the wedding would be focused on Liz, because, gurl, seriously, get more women friends.

There was a knock on the door, but Summer didn't wait for a response before slowly creaking it open and popping her head in.

"Heeeeyyyyyy," she said, "how's everything going? We good? Not panicked?"

She was pretty sure all the panic was probably going on in the other room.

Liz was slowly working on making more female friends, she was going to try to work on it this year.

She smiled, smoothing out her dress again for the upteenth time.

“I’m a bit nervous,” she admitted, “I’m not too panicked yet though, I figured that panicking wouldn’t really be a good option for me,” she admitted, a hand resting on her bump, “for a number of reasons,” she added.

"Yeah, no," said Summer, now wedging herself into the room without opening the door too much and giving a nod, smile, and a wave toward Professor Broom, "definitely do not need you to go into some kind of stress-induced labor right in front of the alter, or anything. Besides, it's not like you have anything to even panic about, right?"

Professor Broom returned the nod and smiled back warmly, “hello,” he said in greeting.

Liz nodded at that, “right,” she agreed, “I triple checked everything, I think we’re prepared as we’re going to be for the wedding,”

She looked over at Professor Broom, “oh Summer this is Professor Broom, he’s my guardian,” she explained, “Professor Broom this is Summer Smith, she helped organise everything for the wedding,”

And so Summer gave Broom another nod and a polite smile. "Nice to meet you, Professor. You must be pretty excited about the wedding, too, huh?"

Unless the dude, like, hated Prompto's guts or something, in which case, lol, awwwkwaaaard.

Professor Broom smiled at that, “same here Miss Smith and I am, I’m so happy for both Liz and Prompto, I know how much they have wanted this,” his eyes twinkled.
