The Sherman-Argentum Wedding; Dahlgren Chapel, Middletown, MD; Friday Afternoon [01/06].

Although there was a bit of a chill in the air, the wintry day was not that bad for a little wedding, and even the clouds in the sky seemed to clear in the sky for the event. Tucked away on a quiet hill, surrounded by trees, the historic Dahlgren Chapel exuded not only quaint tradition, but undeniable privacy for the bride and groom and their friends and collected family.

The small church itself was…tastefully!...decked out in most black and red, with splashes of the occasional white to keep it from being a little too Hot Topic goth-y, in a way that very intentionally meant to be a reflection of Liz's engagement ring.

And, so, with no Fandom Weirdness to get in the way this time, the day was finally here for a small little wedding several months/ten years in the making.

[[ open wedding is open! Please, please, please feel free to mod an invite if you'd like to attend, because we have both had A WEEK and have not had much brain, but the more, the merrier! It's a small wedding, but not that small! ]]

Honestly, not only was having Rain as the ring-bearer a stroke of genius (and a stroke of luck, because, well, you know what they said, about training cats) for the sheer cuteness of it, but it was a smart move if only because giving her pets and treats to reward her for doing her job so well was a good way to keep Prompto up front from fidgeting or fiddling too much in his nervousness. He didn't even care that Rain's nuzzles meant getting cat hair on his uniform, she was a pretty good distraction from his nerves as he waited.

Once that music started up, though, to signal Liz's procession up the aisle, Rain was being hastily handed over to Gladio, Prompto furtively brushed some of that hair off his chest and straightened out his jacket a little before, chest tightening, heart fluttering, he shifted his eyes down the aisle, and...

....was pretty sure that the entire ground seemed to completely fall away from under his feet, with the wave of emotion that hit him. Hit him so hard that the only breath he seemed capable of was letting out an awe-struck little "Oh" and immediately wishing he'd at least gotten a little bit better of a look at her before his view was so completely obstructed and blurred by the tears already springing up to his eyes.

"You look..." said Prompto, his voice a soft whisper and looking positively stunned in that moment as he looked at Liz and reached for her hand with his own, not even caring if it was trembling slightly, "so beautiful right now."

Was it improper for him to say something, right now, in this moment, as far as wedding protocol went? It didn't really matter, he didn't really care, he was only even vaguely aware that people other than Liz even existed right now.

"What?" asked Prompto, chuckling as he couldn't really help himself. "In this old thing?"

It was seriously taking everything he had not to just lean over and kiss Liz right now in that moment, but he realized that would sort of spoil it a little when they were supposed to do that after all the bells and whistles of the ceremony itself.
