The Apartment Above the Photo Hut - Saturday Morning
Liz had gone for a walk early that morning as part of her daily exercise and while on her walk she decided to try her hand at baking, so she stopped by the store to get a few extra ingredients, plus making sure there was enough food for Gladio as well and made her way back to the apartment.
After taking a moment to drink some water and rest before she put away the groceries, Liz got everything out and began preparing to make a cake, she knew she could have bought one at the bakery but she wanted to try baking and see how it turned out.
She did decide to put on some music while she cooked, listening to the Beatles as she started mixing everything together, every now and then she would start singing along.

But not that really mattered, because he found Liz in the kitchen and she was cooking something and there was just something so incredibly perfect about a moment like that that he just needed to soak it in a little, giving Rain a little scratch on the top of her head in passing before going up to try and peek over Liz's shoulder at what she was working on while wrapping his arms around her from behind in greeting.
"Breakfast?" he guessed, although it didn't take long for him to deduce that it was definitely not any sort of breakfast Ignis would approve of.
But he absolutely would.

She paused, “I didn’t wake you did I?” she said softly, “I got a bit carried away,” she indicated the music that was playing.

Just think, the alternative could have been Gladio dragging him out of bed to go work out or something! This was so much better.
"Need any help?"

“Maybe with the cleaning up?” she suggested, indicating the mess she had ended up making around the kitchen, “I’m just about done mixing it, it’s almost ready to go in the oven … I guess I had a craving for cake today,” she admitted.
no subject
As if he wouldn't have insisted on doing it all anyway if she so much as thought of lifting a finger towards clean-up.

Actually she really liked keeping things organised and doing cleaning but this was rather fun and it felt nice, cooking and being with Prompto and she just wanted to take the time to and just enjoy a moment like this.
“I can reward you with cake?” she tried, pointing to the mix that was ready to be poured into the cake pan.

"But cake," he decided, "is a very good reward."
He could probably think of a few others right now, too, but she probably wouldn't have to try too hard to guess what those might be...

Let's be real, this kitchen was still probably spotless compared to the mess he'd made of it the other day when just making a sandwich.
"...how long for the cake to bake?"
Getting to the real important questions now.

She took a look around the kitchen, “I mean, I did make such a big mess for you to clean up and all, it’s only fair,” she added

And, with their unexpected houseguest so conveniently disappeared at the moment...
...although, really, knowing Prompto's luck, this would be right about the time Gladio returned from whatever it was he'd gone off to do.

She had actually been wondering when Gladio was going to come back that morning, she still did feel rather awkward around him and they hadn’t really talked about the pregnancy…
She tried to focus on Prompto instead, “how about I put the cake in and then we can see just how many rewards we can fit in, in 40 minutes?” she suggested with a grin.
no subject
And as far as Prompto was concerned, the last thing he wanted to think about, especially right now, was Gladio. Because while Liz and Gladio might not have talked about it much, Prompto and Gladio definitely had, in hushed, sometimes heated tones, whispered conversations while Liz slept.
Thankfully, his surprise arrival was the last thing on Prompto's mind at the moment as he grinned.
"Sounds like a pretty good challenge," he agreed, though he made no move yet to unwrap himself from around her so she could see to getting that cake in the over. "Although there is a lot to be said, about quality over quantity, too."
no subject
“There is isn’t there?” Liz said with a smile, more than happy to stay in Prompto’s embrace for as long as possible, leaning against him and not making much of an effort to move either.
“That is a tough one,” she added, her smile widening as she thought mabout it, “maybe we can see how it turns out instead, whether it will be quality over quantity?”

She turned back to Prompto, her smile wide and her blush deepening, “are you ready for some of your rewards now?”

Until he finally did break away, grinning at Liz for just a brief moment as he pulled away, just enough so that his next move had him sweeping her up in his arms.
"Let's get you," he said, interrupting the statement with another kiss, and starting toward the bedroom, "more comfortable."
no subject
“I do like the sound of that,” she said, her smile wide as she wrapped her arms around Prompto tightly.

Very," pressing a kiss against her lips, "very," and now against her chin, "generous."
And now one against her throat before returning back to her lips, and then, a grin.
"You're too good to me."
no subject
“Well you’ve been so wonderful with everything, it’s the least I can do,” she smiled as she looked up at him.
“There’s also going to be cake,” she added, hopefully they weren’t going to be too distracted that they’d forget about the cake.
no subject
Oh. They were definitely going to forget about the cake.
But it was fine! She set the timer! And they wouldn't even have to worry about it for another forty minutes.
no subject
Liz’s smile widened, “we wouldn’t want to forget about that,” she said happily as she looked up at him, her eyes wide and that deep blush still there on her cheeks. She still couldn’t believe that they got to have moments like this and she definitely wanted to be able to take the time and appreciate the moment that she was having with Prompto.
“Hi,” she said with a giggle from where she was laying on the bed and looking up at him.
no subject
"How's it going?"
no subject
“It’s going very well,” she told him and started to giggle a bit, her blush deepening even more, “and you?”
