Although there was a bit of a chill in the air, the wintry day was not that bad for a little wedding, and even the clouds in the sky seemed to clear in the sky for the event. Tucked away on a quiet hill, surrounded by trees, the historic Dahlgren Chapel exuded not only quaint tradition, but undeniable privacy for the bride and groom and their friends and collected family.

The small church itself was…tastefully!...decked out in most black and red, with splashes of the occasional white to keep it from being a little too Hot Topic goth-y, in a way that very intentionally meant to be a reflection of Liz's engagement ring.

And, so, with no Fandom Weirdness^™ to get in the way this time, the day was finally here for a small little wedding several months/ten years in the making.

A little pink rushed up to Prompto's cheeks at that, his soft laugh definitely one belonging to someone absolutely not accustomed to being the center of attention so much. "Still a little bummed, though," he admitted, "that we couldn't have had it closer to Christmas, with how much Liz was looking forward to it. But...I think you're right, it's better it worked out this way. If anything, it gave us a little more time to breathe and enjoy it more."

It hadn't been nearly enough time for Prompto to breathe, really, but that would have happened regardless of if they'd had it a few weeks ago or a few months from now.

"And now comes enjoying it all. Are you leaving on honeymoon right away?" Steven asked. Then, as he realized it, added, "Do you need someone to look in on Rain while you're gone?"

"We're leaving in the morning," Prompto said, with a nod and a faint, wistful smile. "Figured this was a lot already for one day without adding more travel to it. And, nah, man, we're good. That's what Hellboy's for. Although..."

He laughed a little with his own realization, "I'd be less worried about being able to get her back if we were sending her off with you instead."

"He is good with cats," Steven agreed. He still remembered the enjoyment of seeing Hellboy's album of cat photos back during Parents weekend. "Well if there's anything else that needs care do let me know. Happy to take a stress off your shoulders so you can enjoy the holiday."

Prompto had to laugh a little bit at that. "Honestly?" he said, knowing full well this could not be understated, and he seemed to be letting out just a little bit more leftover tension with a sort-of sigh as he spoke. "All the stress was pretty much all leading up to this. Now that it's over? Nothing but smooth sailing and relaxing from here."

There was the slightest of pauses.

"Well," he amended, "until the baby gets here, anyway."

Oh, god, now he was going to start stressing out about the baby.

"Well any help we can be there you can have it," Steven said. He knew nothing about babies but he was very willing to learn!

"I'll definitely keep that in mind," Prompto said, chuckling, though there might already be a faintly nervous edge to it. He shook his head a little bit, though, reminding himself that the next few days were strictly for not worrying about anything other than spending time somewhere sunny and warm with his new wife. "Thanks, Steven."

It would definitely be a relief knowing they had a good handful of potential babysitters they could reach out to if Ignis ever got tired of them just shoving the kid at them.

What? He had literally been a professional caretaker since the age of six!

"Still, no reason to jump ahead," Steven said, sensing the nervousness. "Today's about the wedding and you and Liz, so congratulations again. Very happy for you both."

"Thanks," Prompto said, again, figuring he was probably going to be saying that a lot tonight, but so far, it was still said with a genuinely pleased look on his face, an almost proud sort of lift of his chin and a smile to match. And another small laugh. "I'm pretty happy for us both, too."
