Although there was a bit of a chill in the air, the wintry day was not that bad for a little wedding, and even the clouds in the sky seemed to clear in the sky for the event. Tucked away on a quiet hill, surrounded by trees, the historic Dahlgren Chapel exuded not only quaint tradition, but undeniable privacy for the bride and groom and their friends and collected family.

The small church itself was…tastefully!...decked out in most black and red, with splashes of the occasional white to keep it from being a little too Hot Topic goth-y, in a way that very intentionally meant to be a reflection of Liz's engagement ring.

And, so, with no Fandom Weirdness^™ to get in the way this time, the day was finally here for a small little wedding several months/ten years in the making.

"Of course," Watts nodded, reminded once again that he ought to make a concerted effort to get to know Prompto a bit better. "Everything came together quite nicely, didn't it?"

"A couple delays and missteps, sure," said Prompto, with a faint laugh, because, yeah, one of those delays had been quite a doozy, on his end, really, "but, yeah! We got there," and there was that slight twitch in his smile, a whole new blur of tears threatening the bottom of his vision, and honestly? The fact that he'd managed to hold it together as well as he had so far was kind of a miracle, "that's what counts. And Summer really did a bang up job of putting it all together."

Which he did feel kind of guilty about, but, really? He was far too busy flailing to have done anything even remotely effective when it came to planning this thing.

He’d fully expecting Liz to be the one to cry in his presence, given her track record around him, so he was somewhat taken aback when Prompto’s eyes filled with tears there. Still, he wasn’t entirely unprepared, awkwardly holding out a handkerchief that smelled vaguely of pretzel and salt.

Oh, sure, Watts, draw attention the fact that Prompto sort of felt like he had been on the edge of careening right off the emotional roller coaster that today had been, why don't you? Prompto laughed a little, tucking a finger under his eye and trying to blink those tears back a little before waving the offered handkerchief away.

"Naw, man, thanks," he said. "I'm good. Really. It's just....you know, a lot."

"Yes," Watts nodded, tucking the handkerchief back in his pocket. "I imagine it would be. So what is next for you two; are you setting off on a honeymoon?"

Prompto nodded, with a grin that made it a lot easier to send those potential tears away....for now, anyway. There were definitely going to be swells and moments when they threatened to come back before the day was done, he was sure of it.

"We are," he said. "Tomorrow morning, off to the Bahamas. Somewhere sunny and warm for a few days so we can just sort of..." The sigh that slipped out of him then was equal parts wistful and eager, "bask in it..."

He was going to get so stupidly sunburned, and he did not even care.

"Have you ever been there before?"

Somewhere sunny sounded positively delightful this time of year. "I have not yet had the pleasure," he admitted. "Perhaps someday."

Somewhere sunny sounded absolutely necessary pretty much any time of year, after having gone so long without anything even remotely of the sort, really.

"We'll be sure to take lot of pictures," Prompto offered. "Maybe to help inspire you to do the same. Unless it actually turns out to be horrible, in which case, we can give you a fair warning. But I highly doubt that's going to be the case."

Yeah, Watts would have... not done well, in Prompto's world, disliking the dark as much as he did.

"From everything I've heard, 'horrible' seems extremely unlikely," Watts agreed. "But I'd appreciate the pictures. Perhaps I can use them to convince someone," a very subtle glance in someone's direction, yes, "to accompany me there someday."

Well, one thing was for sure: it definitely forced Prompto to (mostly) get over his own nyctophobia real quick.

He followed that very subtle glance with a small laugh. "Do you think," he wondered, "that certain someone would need that much convincing?"

The idea of anyone needing to be strongarmed into a trip to the Bahamas was entirely beyond him.

“Probably not,” he admitted with a slight smile.

There were, of course, schedules to consider. Made slightly complicated by the fact that they had to take into account three of those, not just two. But he couldn’t see Steven objecting to a trip to the Bahamas on principle or anything.

"I didn't think so," Prompto's grin broadened with another chuckle. "Still, though, I'll be happy to do my part in helping to make the convincing as easy as possible for you."

Watts knew, of course, that many people went to the Bahamas to enjoy the beach, and he suspected that's what Prompto and Liz would be doing, but still-

"If you happen to visit any museums or the like, in particular. Photographs would be appreciated."
