Honestly, not only was having Rain as the ring-bearer a stroke of genius (and a stroke of luck, because, well, you know what they said, about training cats) for the sheer cuteness of it, but it was a smart move if only because giving her pets and treats to reward her for doing her job so well was a good way to keep Prompto up front from fidgeting or fiddling too much in his nervousness. He didn't even care that Rain's nuzzles meant getting cat hair on his uniform, she was a pretty good distraction from his nerves as he waited.
Once that music started up, though, to signal Liz's procession up the aisle, Rain was being hastily handed over to Gladio, Prompto furtively brushed some of that hair off his chest and straightened out his jacket a little before, chest tightening, heart fluttering, he shifted his eyes down the aisle, and...
....was pretty sure that the entire ground seemed to completely fall away from under his feet, with the wave of emotion that hit him. Hit him so hard that the only breath he seemed capable of was letting out an awe-struck little "Oh" and immediately wishing he'd at least gotten a little bit better of a look at her before his view was so completely obstructed and blurred by the tears already springing up to his eyes.
