The Apartment Above the Photo Hut - Saturday Morning
Liz had woken up early as she tended to these days, only this time when she managed to get up, she thought Prompto had gotten up as well at first because she had thought the bed was empty.
It took her another moment to realise Prompto was still there only …well it seemed to be another of those weekends and for whatever reason Prompto was now a child and it had missed her completely.
She smiled softly as she carefully got out of bed, trying not to wake Prompto and once she had gone to the bathroom, she made her way to the kitchen.
She figured she could at least make some breakfast for them and once she had fed Rain that morning, she decided to start making some bacon and eggs, still trying to be careful and not make too much noise.
[for Prompto!]

And he tried not to sound too petulant about it. He was used to it, after all, but he didn't want this lady to think he was just some big, whiny baby or something. But it could have been something top secret, or an emergency, or maybe something happened with the war. If anyone knew he was a Nif, that could put him in a tough spot, so they wanted to protect him....
"Is..." He hesitated a moment about asking. "Is everything okay?"

She wasn’t actually sure what Prompto’s parents had done for work, other then they were always busy.
She tried to think of something else to say, “I see you’ve met Rain,” she smiled brightly as she nodded to the cat in Prompto’s arms.

Prompto nodded a little, because, really, everything this woman was telling him wasn't exactly news or anything different from usual, although he did sigh a little bit. Just because he was used to it didn't mean he didn't sometime wish it would be different.
He was definitely happy to switch his attention over to the cat, though, leaning back a little so he could hold her in a way to better see her face. "Is that what her name is?" he asked. "Rain?"
His head tilted a little. He could kind of see it.
He shrugged as he settled her back on his shoulder. "I was just going to call her Kitty."
Because, again. Great with names, this one.

Rain purred right then, “she really likes you,” she told him, “you’re very good with her,”

His best friend, actually, but he felt that would make him seem a little pathetic, admitting to her that his only friend was actually a cat he'd met probably not even ten minutes ago. And as he shifted, he got a good smell of the food, and his stomach reminded him that there were other things at play here, too, that he should maybe start thinking about, and he tilted his head a little to look past the woman into the kitchen more.
"Is that....is that breakfast for us?" he asked.

"Y-yes, please," he said. "It, um, it smells really good."
And food made him feel better when he was nervous or sad or anxious, and he was all of those things right now.
He was usually all of those things, actually...

She didn’t know if Prompto had drunk coffee when he was a child but she figured she should at least wait to see if juice was a good alternative.

"Juice sounds good," he decided, with a nod. "T-thank you."
And he would have moved toward the table to have a seat, but he was in a bit of a conundrum, because that meant setting Rain/Kitty down and he didn't know if he was ready to do that quite yet.

He was just mostly afraid that if he let Rain go, he'd lose her, and that would just be devastating, even if he'd only known her for a very, very short while.
