The Apartment Above the Photo Hut - Sunday Morning
Yesterday Prompto had come round as they had planned for and had ended up staying for dinner, following that, that had led to an awkward invitation to stay the night. That invitation had taken a lot of stammering and blushing and the offer for Prompto to stay with her while she slept so that’s she’d be able to get some rest.
When Liz woke up Sunday morning, she blinked a lot, realising she was in bed, Prompto’s arm around her.
At first she was a bit confused but then realised she had just slept for eight hours. It was the most sleep she had gotten in ages.
She wasn’t sure whether she should move and wake him, so she lay there for a bit longer.
[Prompto modded with permission and for Prompto as well :)

That was a pretty good indication, Prompto wasn’t where he thought he was right?

And that definitely didn't sound anything like him either.
Prompto gave a slightly confused grunt before blinking himself into a little more awareness, a little more wakefulness, and everything fell into place.
Which meant he was now not just nuzzling into Liz's shoulder, but grinning into it, too, and pressing a kiss there as his arm tightened around her in a light squeeze.
"Hi," he answered back.

She gave a smile as she turned her head slightly to look back at him.
“Morning,” she said with a grin, she was looking a lot better than she had a while, she was still tired but she didn’t feel as bad as she had been. “This is nice,” she said softly.

Because sometimes, you really didn't need words. Just a soft, content, and agreeing hum seemed more than enough to suffice, especially since that meant more energy to just snuggle in and appreciate it.
Eventually, though, Prompto did ask, "Sleep okay?"
As if he hadn't spent half the night awake making sure that she did. As if it wasn't a big, monumental deal that she actually had.

She hesitated, “I forgot what that was like,”

"I knew," he then murmured into her shoulder, "all that turkey was a good idea."
Yup. Definitely going to credit the tryptophan on this one!
no subject
“That was really good turkey,” she agreed and then smiled shyly at him, “you being here also helped…thank you,”

In spite of the evidence currently wrapped up in his arm.
"Hey," he said, "this has prevented me from being dragged out of bed by a large, shouting man to go work out. I'm pretty sure I'm the one who should be thanking you."
And if that thanks just so happened to come in the form of a kiss? Well, it was kind of a shame that they'd been up this long like this and there hadn't been kissing yet, really...

“Well if that’s the case…” she said with a grin. Liz had no objections to kissing as a way being thanked and happily accepted the kiss.
Hopefully it wouldn’t cause said large, shouting man to come yell at her because of it - it would just end up being added to the already long list of things she had to talk about in therapy.

But for now, he was just appreciating how this was a million times nicer than his usual Sunday morning, shifting a little to maKe it that much easier to revel in the sleepy, lazy kisses, eventually pulling away with a smile. He lifted his hand to softly brush some rogue strand of hair behind her ear, marvelling a little at the improvement a good night's rest had made for her.
"You're so cute," he murmured, and the almost instantaneous blossoming of pink across his cheeks as soon as he did was a good indication that he may not have entirely meant to say that outloud.

“Oh…” which she was pretty sure was not the correct response to that, so she let out a nervous laugh, bit her lip and stared up at him “and you’re very handsome,”
no subject
"Yeah, okay," he said, with an awkward, self-depreciating laugh, because he was pretty sure handsome guys didn't turn into splotchy freckled messes like this when they were embarrassed, and clearly, the only step he could take from there was to just kiss her again before she could either a) object to his dismissal or b) realize she was wrong.
