Liz’s Apartment above the Photo Hut - Friday Evening
It was Liz’s turn to host a date night and she was rather nervous about it even though it wasn’t her first date with Prompto and he was bringing the pizza round so it ended up being something she hadn’t had to organise in the end.
Pizza and Space Battles and she got to spend more time with Prompto, she couldn’t think of a better way to spend the evening.
At least Prompto had been to her apartment and knew what to expect. It was also definitely a lot more happier circumstances why Prompto was coming round this time.
While Liz tried not to worry so much about their evening, Rain had been occupied with the collection of Santa hats that were now her favourite toys despite the several toys that she owned.
The one thing she had noticed was the mistletoe growing everywhere on her ceiling throughout the day and so far nothing had been happening but well given everything that had been going on in Fandom so far this past month she was expecting that to change.
[for Prompto!]

And with the morning/day Prompto had had, he was looking forward to putting all of that behind him and to be put into a situation where he wasn't even going to need to be harrassed by mistletoe to kiss someone, thank you very much. And if he was entirely honest with himself, the thought of how much kissing this could lead to was pretty much what got him through the rest of the day, even though he was pretty sure the start of his day meant that, yeah, there was no way it was going to be that easy for him, and he was preparing himself, mentally, for some unknown disaster that would make today even worse....
But there he was, outside of Liz's apartment, with a pizza in one hand and a cat carrier in the other, trying to prepare himself for anything as he lifted a foot to kick the door a few times in lieu of knocking since his hands were a little full at the moment.

Rain perked up at the sound of someone at the door and with a Santa hat in her mouth, she trotted over to the door to see who it was as Liz opened the door.
She opened her mouth to greet Prompto and Issa and offer to help with what Prompto was carrying and that was when the mistletoe decided to appear in the doorway and refused to budge.
Liz turned bright red and forgot whatever she had been about to say, “um…”
Sorry Prompto and Issa, she would remember what words were in a moment.

"Soooooo," he said, a bit more pink than red right now but still unable to avoid the blushing entirely, especially since, honestly, a lot of his attention wa still in trying to balance a pizza in one hand and dealing with Issa's shifting weight in the cat carrier now that she'd realized that Rain wa nearby and wanted to be let out to see her newest friend, "don't know if you noticed, but there's this mistletoe thing...."

The red now replacing Prompto's pink was a very complicated color, indeed.
But he pushed that all aside to focus on this mistletoe rather than the mistletoe of his all-too-recent past.
"Good thing there's a pretty easy way to handle it," he said, and then he leaned in to kiss Liz, hoping it wasn't too awkward with the other things he was literally handling at that moment.

She remembered how nice the kissing had been at the party and completely forgot for a while that Prompto was carrying the pizza and Issa’s cat carrier.

"Okay, okay, okay!" Prompto said, laughing as he slowly, reluctantly (reminding himself that there would be more time for more later, anyway) pulled himself away, shifted so that he held out the pizza for Liz to take. And once free of that, he could kneel down with the carrier and open it up for Issa to get out.
"Go on, then. You're free!"
And she surged out of the carrier at first, then stopped, as if aware that might be watching, and proceeded much more slowly and dignified with her head and tail held high until she could greet Rain with a nuzzle and a purr...and promptly went to find where she kept her toys.
Prompto stood back up and met Liz with a grin.
"Hey," he said.

She purred, putting down the one she had been carrying and nudged one of the hats to Issa. Did Issa want to play with a hat? She had heaps but there were a range of other toys that she had if the hats weren’t satisfactory.
Liz looked back up at Prompto and grinned back, “hi,” she said happily.

Which Prompto would have found adorable if he'd even been paying the smallest bit of attention to the cats, but at that moment, he decidedly was not, all eyes on the woman in front of him with the pizza.
"You know," he said, "I'm not really sure that was going to be enough to satisfy the mistletoe. You think maybe we should try it again? Just to be on the safe side? That stuff can get pretty viscous!"
no subject
She grinned up at Prompto, blushing, “we wouldn’t want that to happen now would we, maybe we could give it another try to be safe?”
Or a few tries. Liz wouldn’t mind at all if it took longer.

Meanwhile, without a single sprig of mistletoe currently in sight, Prompto nodded gravely. He reached out to take the pizza box again, but not for long, just enough so that he could move it and set it aside and then, even though this was all falling into place perfectly, he started to feel nervous, anxious, palms sweating and heart racing, as he stepped in close to Liz again. With no pizza box between them, he first went to reach for Liz's hands, but then, at the last moment, seemed to change his mind, instead going to wrap his arm around her waist to pull her in for that next kiss. You know. Just to be safe.
It definitely wasn't as smooth a manuever in reality as it was in his head, but his cheeks were burning over the fact that his goofy ass had even tried that kind of move.

Liz let out a shy nervous giggle as Prompto’s arms went around her waist and drew her in, she put her arms around his and moved in closer, looking up at him as she leaned in for that kiss.
That totally safe kiss that they absolutely needed to have.

Along with everything else.
She forgot about the pizza, the cats … Rain was in the process of dragging over her extremely large Santa hat collection, she had heaps of them to show off to Issa.
In fact she forgot that she hadn’t even properly invited Prompto into the apartment.
She just wanted to stay in this moment and keep kissing Prompto.

But, eventually, things like sort of needing to breathe and also the inevitable spectre of doubt weaving its way out from the back of his brain were to be contended with, and even though he knew he was enjoying this immensely, especially since it had been on his mind pretty much all week and especially after the whole ordeal that was this morning, he started to doubt whether Liz actually was, because him kissing her was one thing, obviously that was going to be amazing, but her being kissed by him, that was something different all together, and it was nice and all of her to humor him and put up with it for his sake, but she'd probably suffered already enough...
When he did pull away, his breath sucked in with a slightly shuttered inhale, his eyes still closed as his kept good and close, forehead tilted toward hers.
"Pizza," he murmured, barely even a whisper. "Movies. Cats. What...wasn't there...something we were doing here?"
no subject
Her arms still around his waist and leaning in to his chest as she looked up at him with a smile, “oh…” she realised as it dawned on her that yes they had a whole evening planned.
“That does sound familiar,” she agreed at last.
no subject
With a few breaks here and there for a valiant attempt at word.
"Vaguely," he admitted, between more, languidly drawn out kisses. "Kinda." And another one, while one of his hands found its way to Liz's face, softly brushing his thumb against her cheek. "Sorta."
no subject
She was very happy to continue the kiss and gave a murmur of agreement with each word Prompto said … she was rather intently focusing on keeping the kissing going as long as she could.
Maybe at some point she’d suggest moving to the couch so they could be a bit more comfortable but words were not a high priority right at that moment.
She smiled as his thumb brushed her cheek, “yeah…” that was the extent of Liz’s vocabulary at the moment.

These nuggets of self-doubt rising up inside of him did nothing, however, to deter him from squeezing in as many more kisses as he could while he could, though, apparently.
"No pineapple."
So hopefully harder to just kick him out over bad pizza topping choices...
no subject
“Um…if you wanted we could move to the couch …um before we get to the pizza,” she said shyly, blushing …still hoping that maybe they could get in some more kissing before the pizza and the movies.
no subject
But the thing with the couch was...it was all the way over there...and they were already here, with all the kissing, and in order to go to over there, they'd probably have to stop the kissing, and that was just...why would he want to let that happen?
And it was precisely that line of thinking that sparked an idea in Prompto's head. Probably a ridiculous idea. She'd probably just laugh that he'd even think about it, but...well...Liz was pretty small...and so was Prompto, compared to some, but he didn't work out as hard as he did to not get results, and Vette had called him Gun Show for a reason, so....with that little pep talk between the kisses, embolded by the kisses, Prompto pulled away and one of his arms was already around Liz so that made it easier (he hoped! assuming she just didn't outright refuse, especially if she realized what he was doing!) to just swoop right in and scoop her up in his arms, and would you look at that? Just so long as he was careful not to step on the cats and their small mountain of Santa hats, he could manage to get them over to the couch and still kiss her while doing it!
And that is why Arm Day was so important.
no subject
Liz had no objections whatsoever to being scooped up since she could still keep kissing Prompto and they could also move over to the couch as well.
She murmured softly as she was swept up in Prompto’s arms and still kept the kissing going.
no subject
Which Prompto had to laugh at a little. "Don't worry, buddy," he assured her. "I'm not stealing her or anything, we're just going to the couch."
Which they had arrived at.
Prompto grinned at Liz to report this news.
"We made it to the couch," he informed her, laughed a little more before leaning in to not only kiss her again, but also lean in to set her down on said couch.
no subject
It was like she had forgotten that the cats were there or something.
She laughed as Prompto announced that they had made it to the couch.
“So we have,” she smiled up at him as he began to lower her to the couch and then happily continued kissing him as he did.
no subject
All he could do, really, was just keep kissing her and hope for the best and that the actual execution of these thoughts turned out to be far less jumbled and awkward than the thoughts themselves were...
no subject
In fact she would actually rather like that as she would really be close to him that way and more importantly they could keep kissing.
Sometimes she would have to pull apart for things like breathing but she was quite content from where she was now on the couch and enjoying the even more, extremely close proximity that she had to Prompto now.
no subject
"This is nice," Prompto noted, bringing voice to the narrative after a while of appreciating that fact.
no subject
She had definitely forgotten about the pizza, movies and cats again.
